I took this photo of a thoughtful gargoyle contemplating the city of Paris atop the Notre-Dame Cathedral in France. I reflected the image and added burlap paper texture. The quote is from Victor Hugo�fs 1831 novel �gThe Hunchback of Notre Dame�h (Notre-Dame de Paris): �gThe saints were his friends and blessed him; the monsters were his friends and kept watch over him. He would sometimes spend whole hours crouched before one of the statues in solitary conversation with it�h. For all fans of Hugo, Gothic architecture, gargoyles and the City of Light.
