Description
I took this photo of the Paris skyline from the view balcony atop the Notre-Dame Cathedral in France. The famous cathedral spire decorated by bronze statues of saints can be seen in the foreground, with the Seine river in the background. I reflected the image, swirled some clouds and added in swirling letters a passage from the 1831 Victor Hugo novel gThe Hunchback of Notre-Dameh: ggAdmirable, however, as the Paris of the present day appears to you, build up and put together again in imagination the Paris of the fifteenth century; look at the light through that surprising host of steeples, towers, and belfries; pour forth amid the immense city, break against the points of its islands, compress within the arches of the bridges, the current of the Seine...h For all fans of Hugo, Gothic architecture, and the City of Light.
