Description
The other day I went to photograph good olfTokyo Tower. This view is from Odaiba, with the Rainbow Bridge in the forefront. The tower been standing there for more than half a century. The first time I saw it was in 1997, and was quite impressed with its cheerful orange glow against the sparkling lights of the city. Now that it will relinquish its broadcasting role to Tokyo Skytree, it seems the tower will still be used for other purposes like research and tourism. Over the many years of living in Japan and working in Tokyo, Ive gotten fond of this tower with its classical inverted cone shape. I hope they'll find ways to make it more energy-efficient and self-sustaining, so that it will be there for many more years. I gave this image a vivid but worn-out look.
