Early morning at Federation Square (aka "Fed Square"), Melbourne's dynamic, premier public square. It was built in 2001 to commemorate the centenary of Australia's Federation. This cultural and entertainment hub has a cobblestone piazza surrounded by "shards", which house cultural institutions, performance spaces and restaurants.
