Description
A lovely, painterly countryside scene, with vivid higanbana (manjushage) or red spider lilies (cluster amaryllis) growing at the edge of rice fields. The bright floral colors contrast well with the earthy, yellow tones of rice stalks almost ready for harvest. This piece is a digital oil painting based on a photo I took of a rural landscape at Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Makes a wonderful gift for anyone who appreciates the blessings of the earth, the beauty of rural Asian scenery or the unique landscapes that can only be found in this country.
