Dango is a Japanese dumpling made from mochiko (rice flour). It is often served with green tea. Dango is eaten year-round, but the different varieties are traditionally eaten in given seasons. Three to four dango are often served on a skewer. I took this photo of gsanshoku dangoh or ghanami dangoh, with the dumplings in three colors in the middle. Hanami dango is traditionally made during sakura (cherry blossom) viewing season. In the foreground is shoyu-dango (dango with soy sauce and dried laver seaweed), while in the background is kinako-dango (dango with ground soybean). If you miss eating dango in Japan, or simply like this traditional Japanese confectionery, then this image is for you!
